The Costa Azahar


Orange Blossom Coast - The Costa Azahar is known as the  Orange Blossom Coast and stretches from Vinaros in the north to Almenara in the south, a distance of 120 km. It takes it's name from the orange groves that run along the coastal plain and enjoys a good climate with beaches of fine sand lapped by the calm water of the Mediterranean sea. More and more English and other northern Europeans are beginning to discover this relatively unspoilt area of Spain with its many attractions.

Oropesa del Mar
- The Marina d'Or holiday resort is located on the outskirts of this typical Mediterranean seaside town known for its beaches of white sand, coves and cliffs, the marina, and picturesque old town with its bars and nightlife. There are many things to do and many places to visit nearby.

Aquarama
- This water park located in nearby Benicàssim covers 45,000 square meters. There are 15 different water features plus the Space Shot which has a vertical takeoff reaching a height of over 60 metres with an amazing descent in 3 seconds.

Grutas de San José
- Located in Val d'Uxo, it is Europe's longest navigable underground river. Believed to have been inhabited as long as 15,000 years ago, as evidenced by the remains of cave paintings, it has many chambers and galleries featuring rock formations formed over thousands of years.

Desierto de Las Palmas
- In wooded hills a few kilometres inland from Benicàssim is the tranquil 17th century Carmelite monastery of the Desierto de las Palmas which is famous for its liqueur distilled from aromatic herbs. The surrounding region is a designated natural park (Parc Natural del Desierto de las Palmas) and, with it's many trails and picnic spots, it is very popular with walkers.

Morella
- A picturesque walled village in the mountains 984 m above sea level with a medieval castle. Built as a frontier fortress it's centuries old walled battlements were built around the town to serve as its defence.

Golf
- There are 5 golf courses in the area. Club de Campo del Mediterraneo (Sergio Garcias home course and venue for the European Tour's Castellon Masters) and Club de Golf Costa de Azahar near Castellon are only a short drive from Marina d'Or. The Panoramica Golf & Country Club is approximately 45 minutes away in San Jorge, and the Club de Golf Escorpión and Club de Golf El Bosque near Valencia are little more than an hours drive away.

Nearby Cities
- If you like shopping, museums and other city attractions why not visit Castellón de la Plana with its orange tree lined streets, which is only 20 minutes drive away, or Valencia (the city of arts and science, and venue for the F1 Grande Prix, and if they don't tire you out, further north you will find the cultural delights of Barcelona await you.
